How to format your notes for the best study audio

3 min read

Audena can transform raw notes into a dialogue automatically, so you don't have to format anything. But a little cleanup — or using the optional script syntax — gives you more control over the result.

If you want Audena to write the script

  • Remove fragments that won't make sense read aloud, like lone diagrams or "see slide 12".
  • Keep one topic per submission so the conversation stays focused.
  • Spell out abbreviations the first time if you want them pronounced in full.

If you want to write your own script

Start each line with a speaker label followed by a colon. Audena detects the pattern automatically, so any of these work:

  • "V1:" and "V2:"
  • "Speaker 1:" and "Speaker 2:"
  • Real names like "Alex:" and "Sam:"

You can use up to four distinct speakers, and each script can produce up to roughly 60 minutes of audio. For the full syntax, see the script format guide in the FAQ — then record and download your episode as an MP3.
